These are a few of my favorite things

Here are some of our recent spring pictures. My brother came to visit for his birthday, we had a bonfire with our Sunday School class, picnic with church friends, and took a little weekend trip to Huntsville, AL.

Don't worry.. be happy!

I am now entering into the most comfortable part of pregnancy. Hallelujah! 16 weeks and counting.

I have begun to notice that "American" women have a reputation for being utterly CRAZY when they are pregnant. Andrew and I went to go see that movie "The Back-Up Plan" yesterday and it was a great movie - really funny! But one thing just seemed to rub me the wrong way and I couldn't get it off of my mind the entire day.

Why do pregnant woman think that they have an excuse to act like a mean hungry person for 9 months?

Yes, trust me... I do understand that hormones are raging and hunger does seem to be present but really y'all... it is not like an alien invades your brain and body for 9 months and then all of the sudden you are back to normal. I have had my fair share of pregnancy woes but I don't really think that gives me an excuse to act like a crazy person!

Is any one hearing me out there or am I the only one that feels this way?

I am sure that if Moms from 100 years ago saw the crazy attitudes and constant paranoia they would laugh.. hard!

Pregnancy is a wonderful joyful thing. So ladies, let's remember that there are women out there that would love to have swollen feet and a kicking baby inside of them. There are women that would do anything to have a baby. Pregnancy is a blessing. Think twice before you start to complain or act like a crazy person. Honor God with your attitudes and actions during your pregnancy. Lean on Christ when pregnancy seems to get the best of you. He is the one who created it.. I think he can handle it. Trust me, you will be a more joy-filled person and your spouse will be a little more joy-filled as well. You know what they say, if momma ain't happy then no one is happy.

Be a blessing to someone today.

Easter Weekend

This past weekend just flew on by. I don't think that we sat down one second!

Friday night was the Good Friday Service at our church. It was SO good. I was so blessed to be reminded that we, the children of God, have hope because of that Good Friday. I have hope for eternity. Travis, my younger brother, drove in that night on his way to his next military destination. After the service we went out to eat with some church friends. Laughter and bottomless chips and salsa is always a great combination.

Saturday I got up early (shocking, I know!) and I decided to have a servants heart :) and straighten up the house, do the dishes, cook lemon poppy seed muffins, make some coffee, and once that was all finished... I conveniently places two piles of chocolate on the dining room table for the sleeping boys upstairs to find when they decided to rise from the dead. Saturday morning, I went to the church and helped with registration for their Easter Egg Hunt. And oh my!! How cute all those little ones were!! I just wanted to gobble all of them up in their cute little Easter outfits. And the baskets... they were huge! Those huge baskets did not stop those little ones from noise diving into the grass for eggs. I love the sweet innocence of kids... it's so refreshing to me.

Saturday evening, my brother, husband, and I decided to go fishing at the lake that is conveniently placed 1 mile from our house. We don't do this as often as we would like but when we do, Andrew turns into Mr. Outdoors. This is a sunflower seed spitting, beef jerky eating, worm bating, good ole time. Every time we go, it seems that everyone always catches more fish than Andrew. I am not sure why this happens but it is sure fun reminding him of this.

Then came Sunday. We, I, You... would be nothing without Christ bursting from that grave that glorious Sunday. It was wonderful that Christ came as a baby and that he died for us, but that Jesus would be nothing with Sunday. He defeated death and now I can have faith that one day I will spend eternity with him. Amazing, isn't it!

After church on Sunday morning we went over to a friends house and ate a HUGE and delicious meal. Then we made our way outside for a game of dodge ball. And don't worry, I did not play. Whether hard, soft, small, or large... any kind of ball being hurled through the air at me is a fear that grips me to the core. When I was in the seventh grade I got hit in the forehead with a really hard volleyball... I never played that sport again. Or really any other sport for that matter. I became a cheerleader a year later. It was my calling. Also, I know my husband well enough to know that he would get an evil thrill out of chasing me all around the front yard threatening to hit me with the ball. Yeah, no thank you. So we had a good and busy weekend. We spent time with people we love and adore. But most of all, we were able to celebrate our God and his love for us freely.
