Homemade Sugar Scrub

Any girl likes to be pampered, right? Well I know I do! But being newly married without a lot of disposable income to go and have myself pampered, I need another option! I want pretty manicures and pedicures, and sugar scrubs... so why can't I have them! Give yourself a manicure and pedicure, and why not make your own sugar scrub! Here is a homemade sugar scrub recipe. Have fun pampering yourself!

You will need:
  • 1 wide-mouthed canning jar (approximately 8 oz)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup body wash (your favorite kind)
  • 1 tbs jojoba oil (Jojoba oil can generally only be found at natural food stores or nutrition centers.)

Directions:

Grab a bowl & put the sugar in FIRST (this is a must or you'll have a bubbly mess on your hands). Then add the body wash & finally the jojoba oil. You can use Brackleberry Farms for the oil. Your local natural-type shop may have it. Enjoy!

Happy Fathers Day!

A Father means so many things...
A understanding heart,
A source of strength and of support
Right from the very start.
A constant readiness to help
In a kind and thoughtful way.
With encouragement and forgiveness
No matter what comes your way.
A special generosity and always affection, too
A Father means so many things
When he's a man like you...
I love you Dad!

15th Annual RC Cola and Moon Pie Festival

This past Saturday was the 15Th Annual RC Cola and Moon Pie Festival in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. Andrew and I love to go and explore, so we drove about an hour to Bell Buckle just to eat a deep fried moon pie! It didn't sound that appetizing to me but Andrew had to get his hands on one of those moon pies. This festival in this little town (population 391) was SO much fun! They had crafts, food, music, shopping, etc. It was something I think everyone should do at least once in their lifetime if they live in Tennessee. This festival is actually on the "Top 100 Things to do in Tennessee" list. Who comes up with that list? Bell Buckle is a big historic landmark and it was so neat to drive around in the sticks with Andrew. After we got done at the festival we drove 10 miles to Shelbyville to eat Pizza in a little hole in the wall Gourmet Pizza and Pasta restaurant! Yummy! Here are some pictures from our day trip:

I love WEATHER!

These past two days our weather here in Tennessee has been a little interesting! We have had two tornado warnings. Now, all of y'all in Texas that experience a Tornado warning per day... this is a little different for us here in Tennessee. Generally speaking, I am a expert in Meteorology because I took one semester of it in college. So I know a funnel cloud when I see one! BTW- I am teased about my knowledge for weather relentlessly by my hubby Andrew. He doesn't appreciate my brain and love for weather apparently. :)

So Tuesday around lunch when Andrew arrived home for grub, we noticed a warning on the TV and opened the front door to see a funnel cloud. Yes ladies and gentlemen, a funnel cloud. I spotted it right away since I am the weather woman in our household and Andrew only half believed me. The next day, Wednesday, Andrew came home and we were greeted by another set of Tornado Warnings. Here is what the radar looked like...

Instead of getting in our bathtub or being cautious, we decided to snap a few pictures and video of the funnel cloud for proof. And I needed to blog about something because my life is boring and I have no cute kids to blog about, so exciting weather is the next best thing for me.

Storms help me to remember that our God is a powerful God!

Count your blessings, name them one by one...

Some new things and exciting things that are going on in the little Wagner household are:

#1- We got a BRAND SPANKIN NEW washer AND dryer! I am excited!
#2- Andrew got promoted to superintendent at his job!
#3- I got a new PINK mountain bike for graduation.
#4- Andrew got a new mountain bike because he is special...
#5- We just joined a new gym. It makes me want to workout. This is blessing y'all!

WOO WEE! Reading that list makes me very grateful for how the Lord has been blessing Andrew and I lately. Currently I have about forty lbs of laundry to do since I am desperately awaiting the arrival of our new washer and dryer! I could not be more excited about it. The thought of never having carry 40 lbs of laundry up and down the stairs to the laundry room makes me almost giddy. The pile of laundry is going growing each day. Lets pray that the delivery gets here on Thursday when they said that it would because if it doesn't I am going to go crazy. Have a wonderful summer day!

Take some time to thank the Lord for all the sweet blessings he sends your way!

Every season gets a little more creepy...

A couple weeks ago was the premiere of the new season of The Bachelorette. Jillian, our cute little Canadian, is the new bachelorette and this season is full of craziness and a little creepiness as well. To catch up on show you can watch the free episodes on abc.com. And check out two of my favorite bachelorette blogs: Chris Harrison's Blog (host of the bachelorette) and Boo Mama's Blog. You will not be disappointed.... it is a great two hour Monday night television event.
Here is the season premiere:

Happy Graduation Ryan!

Here is a graduation DVD I made for my cousin Ryan. My aunt had me make this for him and I was very pleased with how it turned out! He was such a cute baby!
